What is a producer’s job?

Simply put, my job is to help you make your musical dream a reality. I love all styles of music and enjoy working with musicians of all levels of experience. If are a songwriter and you have some songs you’d like to record, my job is to help you flesh out your songs with the instrumentation you want, record your song at the highest quality with the best musicians around and mix/master your recording so it sounds professional and radio ready. I’ll help you navigate the entire music production process including budgets, session booking, hiring studio musicians, mixing and mastering.

What’s my background?

I have been creating recordings since I was a kid with a 4-track cassette recorder. I moved to Austin as a teenager where I continued recording and played in several different bands as a bass guitar player, singer and keyboardist. In my twenties, I worked in south Texas for 10 years as a house recording engineer and live sound engineer for Third Coast Studio in Port Aransas. During this time, I ran sound for Terri Hendrix and Lloyd Maines’ “Life’s a Song” songwriting workshop and retreat where I recorded and mixed live recordings of the songwriters. Since moving to Santa Fe I’ve had the privilege of working with many of the city’s best musicians and songwriters.

I am a multi-instrumentalist and I’m proficient at vocals, guitar, bass, piano, and organ. I also play banjo, mandolin, and bouzouki. I have a home recording set-up where I overdub my own parts, compose written scores for other musicians, arrange and mix.
